Mencius Moldbug once asked what it would take for the faithful to stop believing in the Catholic Church and made the off-color comment that if the pope were to rape a goat in the middle of St. Peter’s square, Catholics would need to either get a new pope or get a new sacrament.
So when Jack Smith posts about Rep. Tim Ryan’s booting from Democrats for Life, and gets the usual snarky retorts, the question naturally arises: how many dissident Catholics must Obama appoint and how much support for Planned Parenthood must he give before Obama fans acknowledge that he is talking through his hat when he speaks of reducing abortion?
Good post. Do you realize you are one of the only people in the Catholic blogosphere I read who hasn’t stopped blogging? Zippy Catholic, now Dawn Eden. Jeff Culbreath, alas, has slowed down almost to stopping point. Bill Luse does post occasionally, which is good. Anyway, it’s a very odd feeling. Like having a bunch of one’s neighbors’ houses suddenly disappear.
Yes, some really good folk are bowing out. I’ve slowed quite a bit as you can tell, but I always think I’ll try to get something up now and then.
