Executive summary: Lincoln lesbian fakes a homophobic attack and LBGT supporters shrug their shoulders:
Star City Pride, PFLAG Cornhusker, and two other LGBT organizations released a joint statement in reaction to Rogers’ arrest, stating, “The false reports received by law enforcement every year do not invalidate the actual crimes that are committed.”
In other words, we can’t let trifles like facts get in the way of the narrative.
And of course the pile of smouldering rubble that used to be mainstream Protestantism reminds us why the denomination is a pile of rubble:
“Even if she did it, we still live in a culture of homophobia,” said the First Plymouth Congregational Church’s associate pastor, Nancy Erickson.

If not for you mentioning it, I never would have heard of it.
“The shocking incident took place as the city debated a gay rights measure, the “Fairness Ordinance.” Lincoln police say Rogers staged the attack to gain support for the homosexual political agenda.”
Seriously I can’t believe this is not bigger news. Especially considering this:
“The fact that her story was another in a string of apparent hate crime hoaxes…”
Are you kidding me?! I wonder how many other times stuff like this has been faked. All we hear about is the persecution of homosexuals, like it’s a never ending thing. With all of these “real” crimes being done against them, each and everyday you’d think they wouldn’t have to resort to making any up. Guess not.
“Jeff Laszloffy, president of the Montana Family Foundation, told LifeSiteNews.com earlier this month there is a dearth of real violence against homosexuals, “so they’re having to gin up excuses to get these laws passed.”
My thoughts exactly.
To be fair, I am seeing the story on non-Christian web feeds. I like to double-check Lifesite stories because while they get most things right, occasionally they get a little too ideologically creative with the material, but in this case it seems to check out. I don’t have cable or read the newspapers, so I couldn’t tell you if there is a media blackout or not.
In any case, as far as ginning up excuses to to pass ludicrous laws, I’d say spot on. I’ve heard a saying that if you want to know what the Left is up to, pay attention to what they are accusing you of. In this case it’s shock doctrine.
And just on a personal note, I lived in Lincoln for a time and am familiar with First Plymouth. It had the reputation of being kind of the town-elite’s spiritual watering-hole. Once even my wife asked a colleague what church she went to and got a kind of derisive snort “First Plymouth!” as if almost insulted that one would ask. That was at least ten years ago and I never looked at their web site then. If you look now, it is clear that it has bought the homosexualist agenda hook, line, and stinker. Typo deliberate.
“I don’t have cable or read the newspapers, so I couldn’t tell you if there is a media blackout or not.”
I have not seen it mentioned on the news, then again I don’t have the time to watch them all. Suffice it to say, I’m sure if it was mentioned at all, it was very downplayed.
“I’ve heard a saying that if you want to know what the Left is up to, pay attention to what they are accusing you of.”
I’ll have to remember that one
“…has bought the homosexualist agenda hook, line, and stinker. Typo deliberate.”
lol! Typo accepted
