Heck yeah I am!!!
I was blown away by the news back in October. That the sequels Lucas had said for years he would do, until he dropped them while working on the prequels, were actually going to get made was news that made Frankenstorm bareable! I’m really happy the series will continue, while I’m more of a Ringer than a, err, whatever you call a Star Wars fanboy, I still love the saga!
Another thing that blew me away was that Lucas actually sold Lucasfilm! I mean we are talking about George Lucas here. You know, the guy who is ultra protective of his IP, to the point where he bans the Star Wars Holiday special from ever seeing the light of day, down to the fact that did whatever he wanted to the series, even when it flipped out his entire fan base, that thing was his, and no one was going to tell him what to do with it. And he sold it all! WOW. Was not expecting that.
Two more points:
1. You know it’s more than just the sequel trilogy right? From what I understand the series will continue indefinitely, with more films coming out every few years. At least that was what I read.
2. Does this mean now that Disney has the rights to Indiana Jones, we will be seeing Harrison Ford donning the fedora again?
Or maybe Shia Labouf will be taking over the roll? (Use this link after reading that line http://nooooooooooooooo.com/ )
I apologize Scott, this post has brought out my inner geek.
